The Tattie Hoaker Health Store is Roscommon town’s only independent health food shop. Open since 2003, we stock a wide range of health foods and supplements as well as skincare and body products. The shop is owned and managed by local people with an interest in the personal and the environmental benefits of naturally based, organic products as opposed to the use of corporate-controlled chemicals in food, medicines and cosmetics.
Maureen Brosnan – Shop Manager and Co-owner Maureen has over 20 years experience in the Natural Health industry. She brings a wealth of experience in sourcing and recommending great products for individual needs.
John Brennan – one of the co-founders of the Tattie Hoaker Health Store is a Roscommon native who farms organically in Ballymurray and who also works as the Manager of Leitrim Organic Farmers Co-operative. He is involved in the campaign to make Ireland GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) free. John has recently been invited to Colombia by the Irish Colombian Solidarity Group to speak to Farmers’ Collectives about the Irish co-operative experience as part of the Peace process between the government and rebel forces.
Aidan Gillan – has a background in community development, in Ireland and Africa. He has owned and operated the Tattie Hoaker Organic Farm in Cliffoney Co Sligo. The farm produces vegetables that are certified 100% organic by the IOFGA (Irish Organic Farmers and Growers Association). Aidan also runs the Save Our Planet Awards to recognise outstanding local environmentally aware projects and businesses in the north west of Ireland.
Tara BeirneTara first came to work for Tattie Hoaker over ten years ago and is passionate about all areas of alternative health. “It’s always interesting” she says “Because the industry is constantly changing, every day is different and at the same time we are tapping into knowledge our ancestors had – the art of wellness. I feel very blessed to work at something I love.”
